 Summer Camp 2012

Youth Camp & Teen Camp

Dates: June 18 - August 28, 2012 (10 weeks)
Camp Hours: Monday thru Friday - 6:00 am to 6:00 pm

 Summer Camp Open House - Wednesday, February 8th (5pm - 7pm) & Saturday, February 18th (11am - 1pm)
 
Hylton Club provides a safe and exciting enviorment to learn and grow. With ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals you will quickly find that there is not better place to be but at the Boys & Girls Club.

All of our exciting summer camp activities and theme weeks are programmed around our 5 core program areas:

  3. Health & Life Skills
  4. The Arts
  5. Sports, Fitness and Recreation

Required Documents

  • 2012 Boys & Girls Club Membership
  • Physical & Immunizations not older than 2years
  • Birth Certificate 

 

Overview

  • 1:14 ratio (all counselors are 18+, CPR/First Aid certified and receive 20+ hours of training)
  • Campers are separated into age appropriate groups
  • Two field trips a week: to the pool and an off-site scheduled location
  • Campers rotate into a new program area each hour they are in the club
  • Campers are provided with two camp shirts

Some previous years field trips included: Luray Caverns, National Zoo,  Roller Skating, Theatre Trips, PGA Golf Clinic, Kings Dominion, Six Flags, Locust Shade Park….. A list of this year’s field trips will be provided to you at the time of enrollment.

  • 12 station computer lab
  • Movie Theatre room with popcorn maker
  • Library
  • Games Room
  • Teen Lounge
  • Arts & Crafts Room
  • Training Kitchen
  • Educational Classrooms
  • Multi-Purpose Room

...plus hours of endless fun and engaging activities!

  • All campers must bring a lunch and drink every single day.
  • Parents should also include a water bottle for days kids are scheduled to leave the building.
  • For campers arriving early in the morning, parents should pack a breakfast.
  • We provide the children with an afternoon snack.

 

Please have the following with you when you come into register:

  • Your child's insurance card
  • Your child's birth certificate
  • The 2012 enrollment packet
  • The 2012 medication athorization form (ONLY if your child will be administered medication during camp hours)
  • A current physical form (no more than 2 years old.  School sports physicals are accepted)
  • Your child's shot record
  • 2012 membership application (if one has NOT been renewed for the 2012 calendar year)
